Man Catches Train, Forgets Baby in Car

I saw this headline, and I was shocked. How does this sort of thing happen? Just exactly how absent minded do you have to be to get to that point? Now mind you, I am as scattered as the next guy, but even I could not imagine being quite this bad off.

"I don't know exactly when he got the memory flash, but he was in D.C. when it was the horrible defining moment, 'Oh my goodness, I think I've left my child back in my car,'" Baur said.

He is being prosecuted, for leaving a child under the age of 8 in a car, and will likely be fined $500, and or 30 days in jail.

I am pretty sure, that any civil litigation he might face, will be nothing compared to what his wife is going to do to him. I think the court should leave him to her. I somehow doubt he will ever forget this.
